I was on youtube and came across this video and decided to watch it as i saw feathers in the picture. shows a modern interpretation of Native American Hair and Makeup.

Rihanna- Disturbia

This is one of my favorite music videos that Rihanna has made. It has a lot of tribal references from the scene where she has a feather head piece to the scene where she has white eye which relate to voodooism and also where she has black makeup all around her eyes. Its not over the top but the message still shows through the makeup which has been done in such a thoughtful way that it gives hints across to the viewer. There are also moment in the video where she has smudges of dirt across her face and body so the makeup doesnt have to be so extreem to show the tribal hair and makeup.

Die Antwoord- Fatty Boom Boom

This is a FANTASTIC video as it contain many references to tribal culture in the hair and makeup but also refers to Voodooism which is a direction i would like to take my project into.
